The world of events doesn’t stand still for long. Here is our round up of essential inspiration, news, happenings and interesting tidbits from the event industry in February 2019.
Coloured Light Filters
Oversized event letters have been a hit for some time but generally white or yellow bulbs are provided as standard. We love the colour filters on these letters which add a fun feel and match perfectly with the logo colours of this organisation.
London Eye Pod Takeover
A pod on the London Eye was transformed into a stylish living room for the launch of the HP Tango X printer. The space-saving lounge used neutral tones and natural textures to create a comfortable and Instagram-friendly luxury space. We love the idea of creating such an exclusive space to entertain special guests.
Sometimes you want something a little bit different, especially when it comes to weddings. And the go to place for event and wedding inspo, is Pintrest. When our Event Manager Helen was asked by friends if she could replicate a Pintrest creation, she hesitated as she definitely did not want to be featured on the infamous hashtag #pintrestfails……however after a couple of attempts, we think she nailed it! Its amazing what you can do with some string!!
Angel wings are a popular addition at events looking to create Instagram-worthy moments. Even HRH Duchess of Cornwall got in on the act when she visited the Baltic Triangle in Liverpool, Merseyside recently.
Nature Meeting Pods
With wellness and well being still right at the top of many peoples agendas going into 2019, these meeting pods nestled into nature are the perfect place to be productive in a peaceful environment. We spotted these cool meeting pods in the Chiswick Business Park. Who doesn’t want to meet in the magic of the woods?
Love is in the Air
We love this amazing ombre heart balloon backdrop, perfect for valentines day.
The Harris Museum in Preston is currently hosting the #MuseumoftheMoon. This huge moon hangs in the centre of the museum and can be viewed from all floors of the space. The installation by artist Luke Jerram is in-situ until 24th February and the people of Preston are loving it! We have never seen the Harris Museum so busy!
Andy King Considers Next Steps
Andy King is the unforgettable event planner, made famous by his shocking revelations in the Netflix Fyre Festival documentary. He is currently enjoying his new found celebrity status and considering TV show offers and ad deals. Whilst some event planners have been quick to criticise him and very few event planners would ever consider going THAT far, should we not be recognising the pressure, responsibility and lengths that many event planners will go to to try to make the impossible happen? Good luck to him, whatever his next steps might be.
